A new Chapter begins

Sunday August 14, 2011 at 12:55am Monty's big brother Petey died of heart failure. Now he must go on as an only dog. We have been out hiking every day, playing fetch, retrieving the bumper from the lake and playing with other dogs. Monty is depressed when at home and a complete wild man when out of the house. One day at a time.

August 2, 2011 Scary Balloons

Poor Monty had a scary event happen tonight. We had company for dinner and were eating out on the patio. There was a few helium balloons sitting on the patio, left over from my mom's surprise party. Monty was on a long lead attached to my chair so he and Petey didn't wrestle and end up running through the gardens, getting in the pond and basically disturbing our peaceful dinner. The Balloons some how got wrapped around Monty's long line. Next thing we knew he had gotten up and thought the balloons were chasing him! He took off running, leash came off the chair and he was GONE! Poor guy was terrified of the balloons chasing him. I've never seen a dog run that fast. Thankfully the balloons got caught on one of the trucks. He stopped running and went into the garage. The entire family was laughing. I felt so bad for him. He is such a sweet sensitive soul.
