Montys great adventure.

January 29th Bobby and I took Monty for a walk at a location he had never been to. I was there to see a bird which we saw, an Albino Red-tailed Hawk, we decided it would be good to let the boy run around for a little while. We no sooner let him out of the car walked up a slight incline and glanced over the field and our boy was gone. I immediately got a really bad feeling. We called him for a few minutes and then Bobby set out to find his footprints and found them and decided to start trailing him. I stayed back in case he looped backed around and within about 40 minutes decided to post on my Facebook wall and ask my friends for help. Bobby kept going following his trail in the snow.  We had very bad cell service but occasionally were able to text. Monty's foot was bleeding it made it easy to follow him. Friends started showing up to help. Bobby soon found that Monty had crossed a road and headed up to a neighborhood. Thankfully the blood enabled Bobby to find his trail as he rain up the road. Soon he came to a new home construction site and asked the workers if they had seen they did!! A friend decided to join Bobby and off they went trailing Monty on top of a ridge they trailed him for hours never giving up. It was starting to get dark and all of a sudden they came to a spot where Monty ran back and forth ten times. Bobby stopped and called Monty. He could hear him barking quite a distance away. Bobby went down the side of the slope towards where he had heard him barking. He soon came to a ledge and there he was!!!! 6 hours and about 8 miles. My husband is my hero! He never gave up on finding Monty and wasn't coming home with out him!  He is one loved boy.
